Big Day!

Ok so first thing's first, interview. Super French super cute place. A little farther than i'd like to drive for a serving job but... Meh. So I give him a resume, he gives me a quiz. First page is all customer service. Total breeze. Flip to page two.... Wine knowledge. Now in Ohio... I know wine. I like wine. I drink it. Good enough. Right? False. Tell me.... Do you know which variety of grape comes from the Toscano region? Yup. Me neither. So I explained to him it wasn't for lack of interest but for lack of education that my wine knowledge was obviously below par. But.... We'll see.

Part two: I have an interview as a pool server tomorrow at London West Hollywood. Super nice hotel, 2minute walk from my apartment. Fingers crossed!!

In more exciting news... I saw Justine today! We ate vegan hot dogs and caught up on everything. Made me miss her more:)

Also, last but not least... You know how I like to save the best for last.... Get ready it's a big one.... That's what she said....ok enough already. I SAW THE OCEAN!!!!

Nick turns off the TV. I look up from my computer and say "what's wrong... No seriously... Are we getting milkshakes!?" well we did. In Santa Monica then we walked to the beach. Didn't go on it because it's freezing, but we did go to the pier. And here's my pictures.

P.S. mom... I had the strongest urge to call you do you could hear the ocean... But stupid time zones:P

Weekend update! (I know it's Tuesday)

So here's the update:

We had a very Hipster weekend and now I have to get work done!

Yesterday I applied for one job (hey it's a start!)
I also saw an old college friend, caught up on acting stuff, and came up with a game plan for getting famous;)

Goals for today: hit up the pharmacy and grocery store, get all dolled up and put in at least 10 applications!

Rummage Sale!

So the American Apparel factory has a flea market for a week every year. We're talking up to 90% off! Yes please. And it was literally in the factory. Like we saw them sewing. Very cool experience. Here's the factory.... I'll send pics of what I bought when I get home!

One Saturday Morning

Good morning! Finally I may have actually caught up on sleep! So here's the update... We got home yesterday around 4 pm. We went to Century City and ate dinner at a place called The Counter (great build your own burgers). I craved shopping. We went to the apple store where I found at least 5 future husbands. THEN I MET ASPEN! Love her. We went to Nick's cousins film screening. 11 minute short about her very well done nose job. It was super cute. Then came home and I fought off sleep until it was appropriate to do so.

For the most part, chill first day.

Today's plan: unpack, go to the American Apparel flea market sale, and possibly my first LA party with some OU grads!

Ouch. There are too many stories to yell and most of them I never want repeated. On to LA!!!! 4 hours from being home! Also, my friend who works for Ashton Kutcher's production company has a PA job lined up for me next week. Yes please.

Oh funny story!

So last night Shawn ordered Papa John's online when they were closed. We got it at 11 am this morning when they opened. That's easily my favorite story thus far!

So I had moment today when I got on the elevator to go up to our room and it was just me and a decently cute pizza guy riding together. He said "I'm on 2." I said "I'm on 2 too! Mmm pizza" (that was my not-so-inner fat girl coming out) he said "you can have it" I explained that we had just had dinner in town on a recommendation from a friend and we're here for the night because I'm moving to Cali. He said "well I'll give you my number and you can have free pizza tomorrow before you leave". I was totally just picked up by a pizza delivery man! Lol BUT, like the lady (idiot) I am I said "oh no we're leaving at 8 am thanks anyway though! Goodnight!"....I'm so smooth.

Tomorrows Intended Itenerary

Ok so we're leaving lovely Flagstaff at 9 am.
1.5 hrs later it's on to the Grand Canyon (great pics to follow)
Spend and hour there and leave by 11
Then 4 hours to Vegas Baby!!! With a half hour stop to see the damn Hoover
Dam. I'll keep you posted on how many times I say damn tomorrow. Post your bets now. It's gonna be annoying.
Then Vegas by 4 and meet up with Alyse and Shawn!!!
Oh I forgot where we check into our SUITE! At the Hard Rock Hotel.

Exciting times! And on that note I'm pruning so good night!

Squeak Gives a Standing O

Dinner at Charlie's a really cool historic hotel turned restaurant/pub in Flagstaff. Just real nice work. Meat was a little dry but squeak's Navajo tacos have me hunting recipes!!!! And now on to Chai Tea to go and a little walk around the block!

Feeling Flaggy!

I just want to get on the roof and yell "I love my friend Flagstaff"! So first of all... I'm blogging from a hot tub (could be hotter because the desert is freezing at night, but who am I to judge). Squeaky's upstairs planning our trip and showering because he forgot his swim trunks (D-I-L....).

Second of all... flagstaff is just a wonderful southwest version of Athens. After our awesome dinner, we got soy chai teas to go (I know, we're one bad haircut away from being hipsters). We walked all around Flagstaff and even went into a few stores (I got a new brass ring that I'm sure will turn my finger green Sis, but it is such a cool color!)

All and all we are already planning our weekend getaway here. It's just too close to pass up!

Upgrade!!!

Finally after two nights of staying in Super 8's we've upgraded! It's 5:02 in Flagstaff, AZ and we are ready to explore. We've been through 2 time zones and 3 states for a total of 10 hours on the road.... Shoot me.

Here's how I feel about the states....
Texas: I hate you. Your exit and on ramps are stupid. Sunny Gardner is from there. You're flat and ugly like a prepubescent teen girl. Get on that W. Not the teen girl part. The part where your state sucked.

New Mexico: Lots of white guilt here. I think we should just give this back to all the Indians (I.e. Native Americans: they haven't gotten that memo yet) and let them make their own country... If they want to...or not... It's totally up to them.

Arizona: you are beautiful. Lots of rules here though. Just really can't do anything fun. But looks nice!

It's warm, sunny, the scenery is so beautiful and we will have gained two hours by the time we get to flagstaff. The day is really looking up and the fun part of the trip is upon us:)

Ok quick recap cause I'm exhausted.
So change of plans and we decided to make tonight the long drive so we could enjoy flagstaff tomorrow instead of driving fifteen hours.

Fun fact: desert is cold at night and Sunny Gardner (real name...can't make that shit up) the night manager at the Super 8 is starting aquaponics but his garden didn't do very well. Tit for tat I say. Suck it up. Give me my room key.
