Hi! My name is Lea Donnelle and I am 12 days away from moving to Los Angeles! In honor of this great adventure, I decided to start a blog to not only document my trip out west, but also to show you all the adventures I tend to get into myself. So, at my sake....enjoy!

In Other News...
So I've laid off submitting myself for auditions, because I've been trying to get my schedule set first and make some money to support my broke butt. However, an agent saw my profile and sent me a request to come meet them. Exciting! They are a commercial agent and also a theatrical agent. So we'll see how that goes. I'll keep you posted when they get back to me about when they want to meet me!!!
Salmon Swim Upstream
Just the first of many things I'm sure I will learn at my serving job. Just Kidding. But seriously. I started yesterday with paperwork and a uniform inspection. They also gave me a bag of toys which included, an embroidered apron, pens, wine key, crumber (everyone at the OUinn will love that), a handbook and a test booklet. I am actually totally obsessed with how they train! It's all right in the booklet and it's a five day process. Looks flawless. Love it! I'll let you know how training goes tonight. The weird thing is I'm very excited to be a server again now that I know how much retail really stinks!

For: Mitchell
Because I know it would give him great pleasure to share with ely. Here's another Mitchell Christmas idea...

A little piece of me...
Seeing as my ear is peeling because my skin has been super dry since I moved here, I decided I would start collecting the flakes in a small vile. This will be mitchell's Christmas present. He can wear it around his neck so I'll always be with him!
I survived African American Friday
I have no pictures only sore feet and hopefully a sweet paycheck for the week! But I cannot wait to start serving again... Never ever thought I'd say that!

New Duds
Is that how you say you have new clothes when you're ghetto? I'll have to ask Aspen... Anyway here's my first Gap outfit that I wore to my final interview today at gulfstream!
I Said A Boom Chicka Boom... VEGAN STYLE!
Veggie Grill is a chain restaurant in LA that makes all the food vegans miss... For vegans mmmm here's my dinner. Their version of BBQ steak!
Face Lift...or Fall
Ok, so the face lift is in honor of Mitchell, whose name I drew for the christmas drawing. So for the next 41 days I will be posting possible gift ideas. It's gonna be exciting. The best part is Mitchell follows my blog...or claims to...so this could be fun!
I Need To Leave WeHo
Ok, so I've only lived in WeHo 3 weeks...but I'm already realizing I will find no boyfriend here...at least not a straight one. I'd actually be lucky to even find one in the closet. Not that I'm looking for a boyfriend...because I'm not. But a little male attention never hurt anyone's ego. We do have a regular server on Monday nights at Musical Mondays at this bar called 11. His name is Ryan Kelly (IMDB him) and he is ALLEGEDLY straight...but when I tried to in him. He resisted very hard. lol He actually told the boys he'll remember all of them next week but I'm shit out of luck. Great.
I Workout!
So I wanted to tell you I started a workout plan this week. There's something about running in Beverly Hills that makes you want to be successful. lol So, if you notice during the week I'm a little bitchier, that's totally a word, it's because I'm quitting soda and sweets and running a 5K every day. So, get over it.
K thanks bye.
K thanks bye.

What You Have Been Missing Out On
I've got to find a way to get better at this. But the good news is, I'm starting to fall into a groove and really feel at home here. Last night was the Christmas tree lighting at the Grove...we went. Couldn't find a parking spot. And left. However, we did see the fireworks from our balcony and it was magical. Squeak said "we live here. can you believe that. this is where we live." And the truth is I am starting to believe that. I've had great luck out here and I wouldn't trade that for the world. The city is going to take a long time to beat me down at this rate!
So, I have two jobs. I started training at the Gap on Hollywood and Highland. I actually really like it! My last day of training is today and I get to just try on their clothes for 2 hours. Can.Not.Wait. The other good thing about working here is I work with a friend from college and fellow actor. That's comforting! Also it's only about 3 miles from the apartment so I've walked it often. (that's part of my workout plan!)
Tomorrow I start at Gulfstream. Pretty excited about that. I'll keep you posted!
Also, I had my first rehearsal at the Next Stage Theater on La Brea in Hollywood. The show is about a 45 minute show of a mash up of Charlie Brown shows. It's cute. It's a kids show. And I learned yesterday that I am the only person there educated in theater. so awesome.
Oh and in other news! I had this terrible audition that I knew I wouldn't accept the role if they begged me because you don't treat actors like that. Period. (thank you profs for teaching me that) Well, they offered me the role and I politely declined telling them my schedule had changed and I was committed to another project. But, that's 2/2 on auditions. So it made me realize that maybe I need to set my bar a little higher. That's exciting. Oh and I went to an acting class to audit with a friend and it also made me realize that with hard work and determination there's no reason I can't have an agent and some good work in a year. I am taking a break right now on submitting for auditions for two reasons, I need to concentrate on my money jobs and get into a swing with them and I need to get together some form of media submission until my reel is done!
So, that was a huge update. I swear I'm going to get better at this and funny again. Just hang in there with me! I'll get settled and back into the swing of blogging again!
Thanks for sticking with me...if anyone's still reading this. lol feel free to comment on anything!

Mind The Gap
So good news. I got a job today at the Gap! lol they called me right after the interview to offer me the job. I told them about gulfstream and they're totally willing to work around the schedule and I'm totally willing to do that for a little while for the employee discount. lol So...that's what's going on.
Also, I got a haircut today. totally got butchered. I have got to find a stylist. seriously...new mission!

Big Girl Panties.
Ok so the subject line is a lyric from a song cut from Bring It On the Musical. just felt the need to clarify.
Here's life:
I'm Peppermint Patty!!! The theater is The Next Stage Theater in Hollywood. It's part of the Berubians Theater Company. Super small black box space with like benches for seating, but I'm still in love. Also, the director just has a great view on life...let's just hope he can direct! It goes up every Thursday at 8 in December...if you can get here by then...do it.
Also, I had my second interview with gulfstream restaurant today in Century City. It's part of the Hillstone Restaurant Group (i.e. Houston's if you're into that sort of thing). It just so happened I skipped a step in the interview process and talked to the gm today and he told me "you don't need to look anywhere else, things are looking really positive here" so as long as they don't find out about all my outstanding warrants during my background check, I'm in!
So, overall just a real exciting day. Things are looking up and I'm starting to see how Stella Got Her Groove Back. (joke credit: Nick Parsons)
Next week we tackle working out and diet...which have just really gone to shit.
Here's a couple images for the illiterate readers....

Job update...
I had an interview at banana republic Monday that I should know about by Friday. I had an interview at this great seafood restaurant called gulfstream in century city and they called me back for a second interview today! Also an interview at gap tomorrow. Fingers crossed I will have a job by the end of the week!
My first audition
So this is what I wore on my first audition. It was in a store front black box theater. The director really made up for it though! Just really great to e in the room with.
The part was Lucy in Charlie Brown Christmas. We did the audition which I was over dressed for but what's new. And last night they called and left me a voicemail offering me a role! Idk which role yet because I'm playing phone tag with them but still exciting!!!!
I have another audition today for a show about a drag queen called Carol's Christmas. The theater is a little nicer. The role is for Tiny Tina. I'm still going to go and audition and we'll see why happens!
On the move!

Take me O-ewww-T Tonight!
So here's the scoop.
I had an interview today for a temp agency. They called me last night to tell me I'm crazy and I have no clerical experience and gave me some tips on getting a serving job. It was just the ego boost I needed to apply for whatever freakin' serving job I want!
I also got my first audition!!! I've been submitting to a website that I joined (thank you chase slate card) it's called lacasting.com. Just real nice work. So the audition is for Lucy in Charlie Brown Christmas. It rehearses on weekend and goes up every thursday in december. It's a deferred paid gig, which means if they make money, I make money. Which is still very exciting! So I'll definitely keep you posted on that I'm sure!
Also, I just got a call for an interview at banana republic and the Grove, which is a super swanky mall near us. I would totally take this retail position because that's where I buy my clothes and I want the discount...ahh thank you. Also, a Buffalo Wild Wings is opening in Hollywood and I'm going to the open interview for that monday as well!
Making moves. Slowly but surely in the right direction. I will say this much about LA. I'm going to love it here when I'm done stressing about money. The people are nice. The weather is to die for even when it's at it's worst. I can see myself liking it here :)
Sorry if my posts lately have been boring you, but things have been pretty boring lately, but stick with me and I promise it will get better!

My Cali Look
Squeaky snapped this picture of me at our lunch date. I am officially one of those people who are on their phone all the time that I hated.
All Hallows Eve
So this was a block from our apartment on Halloween night. We stumbled upon a free pop up Robyn concert. If you don't know her... Look her up. She is amazing!
Funemployed...
So I know I haven't posted much lately and I promised pictures I haven't sent....But I have literally been applying to jobs this whole time...I'm pretty sure I've applied to 50 jobs. However, I'm on my third interview today! And this one's for an administrative assistant at Food Biz Inc. so that's promising. hopefully...we'll see...
I got a call from London West Hollywood this morning (interview #2) and they said they hired within instead of bringing in someone new, but they liked me and they're sure I'll have no problem finding a job. gee....thanks...you could've just given me one.
I have yet to do some of the fun things I want to do here, because I'm broke, but it will happen soon enough! Just wanted to keep you posted and I promise....pictures are happening today! (see...it's important to set goals...)
